Projects

Objective 1: Create a network infrastructure design communications document that includes identified hardware components, connections to the outside world, identified physical layer connectivity (media), and addressing, including operational and security components in the design.

NTW216 Final Project Presentation is a presentation that explains how connected networks work and how to use Microsoft Azure, VirtualBox, & VMWare.

Created for the UAT Course: NTW216—Foundations Of Systems Administration.

NTS103 Final Project talks about the importance of encryption, Privacy, & what is EULA.

Created for the UAT Course: NTS103—Identify Protection and Security.

Objective 2: Install, configure, and test security hardware and software tools with supporting documentation such as port scanners, vulnerability detection systems, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, system hardening, antivirus tools, patch management, auditing, and assessment.

System hardening helps students learn methods to protect themselves from online exploits.  Hardening a system is a process of removing unnecessary accounts and applications, disabling unnecessary services, enabling a firewall, closing unused ports, and enabling encryption—to name a handful of steps.

Objective 3: Construct, implement, and document a script or a program to automate a security-related process or other tasks such as installation, administration, management, mapping resources, logon scripts, patch management, updates, auditing, analysis, and assessment.

Must utilize at least two of the four scripting languages we introduced. Must have a menu system to select the activities to be performed. Must have at least four useful functions. Must be cybersecurity and/or information technology related. Must be fully documented (purpose, author, sections, and good descriptions).

Create a simple script that can run NMAP against corrected, the range of the class server's VLAN is 10.140.1. X/24. Your code might work, but is won't find anything with the previous info.  Here are the requirements:

Objective 4: Create a policy or procedure that addresses events such as: a disaster recovery plan, a business continuity plan, an incident response policy, an acceptable usage document, an information security policy, a physical security policy, assessments, or troubleshooting procedures.

Your manager has asked you to write a security program implementation plan for your organization’s new data center. This data center will be one of the largest in your organization's western region and will store sensitive customer information that is critical to your organization continuing growth.

Objective 5: Develop a research report or implementation plan concerning legal and ethical best practices and mandated requirements that pertain to information security.

You will be creating an INFOSEC Implementation Plan based on the SP or FIPS of your choosing. Do not summarize the reading. The following lists are the NIST Special Publications and the NIST Federal Information Processing Standard that are currently are available for your choosing for the final project.

This is your final document submission of the BC/DR Plan you created. This paper is the final paper must be in APA format and organized as if you have just completed a major project for your organization.  Remember that this will be a Portfolio quality product.

Created for the UAT Course: NTW440—Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Plan.

Objective 6: Research, document, test, and evaluate several current industry information security-based threats, risks, malicious activities, covert methodology, encryption technologies, mitigation techniques, or unconventional tactics to prevent loss of sensitive information and data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

You will be exploring policy in this assignment. You will be writing a report on how to implement the correct policy to assist in protecting your company from social engineering. We will be solidifying the knowledge we have gained to produce a capstone product for this class and your quality is expected to be high.

Created for the UAT Course: NTS310—Social Engineering.

You will need to perform, analyze and document at least four (4) of the investigation items from the identified chapters depending on your operating system to be considered complete.  (you can do more than 4).

Created for the UAT Course: NTS405—Incident Response.

You will be sending a phishing email. You will be attempting to get them to click on a link. Do not try to drop malware or conduct further escalation. When you complete your communication attempt, you will write an APA format paper on what you learned during your attempt.
